CITY OF TEMPE - KEN MCDONALD GOLF COURSE RESTAURANT HVAC AND ROOFING REPLACEMENT
The project scope consisted of Architectural design services, mechanical and electrical engineering services and Construction Management services. The project was completed using the city of Tempe JOC (Job Order Contacting) delivery method. FMS partnered with Maven engineering and ABP structural engineers. Construction documents and construction administration services were provided for the project to replace the existing dishwasher exhaust fan. The existing evaporative cooler was rehabilitated and redirected to supply cooling air to the main exhaust hood. Additional cooling was also added to the kitchen area to zone the cooling.
A water leak in the breezeway between the clubhouse and the restaurant was found and investigated. Upon structural investigation it was revealed that the structural components were subsiding under the weight of the equipment on the roof. These components, if they were to fail, would cause significant damage to the structure and HVAC systems as well as to create dangerous safety hazards in the main egress path for users. The structure was reinforced, and roofing repairs were completed.
